    E-conomic Plain Speaking Movement!

I’d put aside a recent cloud computing pull-out from The Times as being something I ought to read and was delighted to come across a diagram on page 4. Diagrams are good, diagrams can explain a lot.

Enticingly titled, Anatomy of a Federated Cloud Environment, at first glance the diagram didn’t make anything a whole lot clearer. Second and third glances didn’t prove any more enlightening and I could already feel a headache coming on. Not sure who the target reader is for a pull-out such as this, but assume it can only be those fully converted to the cloud and completely at ease with all its terminology. Which of course, does rather leave an awful lot of people out in the cold.

The cloud concept itself isn’t a complicated one, it is, in fact and in principle rather breathtakingly simple and like it or not, the next logical step along the IT path. Surely therefore it makes better sense to extend understanding to as wide an audience as possible and not get caught up in a spiral of ever more incomprehensible tech-speak. OK rant over, and feeling a lot better for it!

I know the snow has caused many people’s plans to collapse in disarray and can’t help compare, as we all do every year, how other countries cope so much better than do we. Of course, back at the Mother Ship in Denmark the amount of snow we’ve had wouldn’t get a second glance and they’re really a bit baffled as to why we Brits are hunkered down in siege mode.

Anyway – to those of you who have ‘broken up’ early, those of you who’re breaking up at the end of today and for those stauncher souls ploughing through to Christmas Eve; to all of our wonderful clients who’ve made this year such a success for us all over Europe and to our own staunch teams who run everything with such aplomb, here in the UK, back in Denmark and in Spain, Poland and all our other areas of operation: A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY, HEALTHY AND PROSPEROUS 2010.
