Need to add another bank account to your invoices?

    24 June 2011

If you do business with customers in other countries, you may need to list more than one bank account in your invoices so your customers are able to transfer money to you from wherever they are.

    How does this work?

As you may know, in E-conomic you only have the ability to set up information for one bank account – under the Settings tab in your Master information – but never fear, there is a way to solve this with only a little effort! :-)

    VAT Override in E-conomic !

    14 June 2011

To save you time when processing your supplier invoices and any journals the system automatically calculates the VAT based on the VAT code that appears against a nominal code or one that you’ve selected, now not only does it do this but you NOW have the ability to change the amount calculated!

All new agreements taken out after today will have this included. To activate this in your existing agreement simply go to the Settings tab, select the menu option Daybooks. For example, click on the edit icon to the right of your Supplier invoice daybook and tick the box “Allow editing of VAT amount “ and click OK.

If you require any assistance in activating this please call our support team on 08456 800 473.

    Create your own tab

    10 June 2011

When working in E-conomic you navigate your way through the system by using the various tabs at the top of your screen.

Did you know that you’re actually able to create your own extra tab to appear next to the other tabs at the top of your screen? All you have to do to get going is activate the add-on module API, which will cost you – nothing :-) .

This extra tab comes in handy especially if your using an integration with E-conomic. This way you are able to create a tab with the URL for the integration site, giving you easy access to the homepage of your integration partner, without flipping between screens or browsers.

Or you can put in the URL for a site that you frequently visit, so you don’t have to exit E-conomic to check the weather or, perhaps, your bank account.

You can read more about creating new, extra, tabs and much more in our E-copedia.

    Have a nice weekend :-)

Are you missing new business potential?

    8 June 2011

Are you making the most of your Administrator profile?

As an E-conomic administrator it’s important you keep your profile page within our system updated.  New clients coming onboard with E-conomic who don’t have an accountant/bookkeeper are being directed to our find an Accountant/Bookkeeper page — and will be looking for you!

So check out your profile and make sure your contact details, email address, website URL, etc. are all up to date.  By doing this, you ensure that existing or potential customers always have the right information about your company and the services you offer.

If you have yet to create your Administrator profile page and need assistance, just contact our support on 08456 800 473 or email us at info@e-conomic.co.uk and we will help you.

Don’t miss out on new clients!

    Bank reconciliation in E-conomic

    3 June 2011

Did you know that you can easily import your bank statement into your agreement and have your E-conomic entries and your bank entries reconciled automatically?

It’s true!  This allows you to automatically create and book all your entries in one go, by simply importing the bank transactions and running a reconciliation.

to do this, you need to save your bank statement as a CSV-file.  Once this is done, you can go ahead and have E-conomic (almost) do all the work for you!

Remember that the first time you import your bank statement, you will need to reconcile your opening balance.  Once this is done, you only need to import your bank statement in the future.

Read more about automatic bank reconciliation in our E-copedia:

    Have a lovely weekend! :-)

    More administrator improvements

    1 June 2011

Following on from the new features for administrators included in the previous Market Package, we’ve now released even more improvements, bundled together as Market Package 37,  to make life easier for administrators.

    Market Package 37

    Combined company registers

Administrators can now get a full overview of all companies with details on who pays for each company. This gives a much better overview than the old separation into administrator- and client-invoiced registers.

Additionally, when transferring invoicing of a company between administrator- and client-invoicing, a range of options are available, e.g. changing the company’s subscription and, when transferring invoicing to the client, editing the client’s superuser information and invoice e-mail address.

No more booking in closed accounting years

Booking in closed accounting years has been disallowed. This is because many of our users forget to re-close the accounting year when they have booked additional entries, meaning that the opening balance of the following accounting year is not re-calculated.

By forcing users to actively re-open and re-close the accounting year, this scenario can be avoided, plus it allows for a much better audit trail.
