    E-conomic October system improvements

    21 October 2010

Numerous new system improvements and bug fixes are being released in E-conomic’s Market Package 24.

A few bug fixes have been made – for example in the Chart of accounts report, a number of blank lines used to be incorrectly shown.  This has now been fixed.

Further improvements have also been made to a few of our add-on modules.  For example, when emailing your files to the Scanning module, E-conomic now detects your attached files much more reliably than before.

Read more about the new improvements on our website!

    Enjoy!

    ANNUAL 2020 CONFERENCE

    18 October 2010

Thursday 14th October saw the 12th Annual 2020 Conference in Birmingham where E-conomic, amongst others, had an exhibition stand. The overall theme of the conference was The changing face of accounting . . . which naturally majored on the adaption to and adoption of Cloud Computing.

Richard Messik who was supporting on the E-conomic stand comments:

“The interest of the delegates who came to the stands was positive. Without exception they wanted to understand what was on offer and were keen to get further information when they returned to their offices. How many will take it further remains to be seen… but how refreshing to get a positive reaction and a genuine interest in the concept.”

RSM TENON AND E-CONOMIC, A GOOD FIT

    18 October 2010

As you may have already read in the media, we’re more than hugely delighted with the choice of RSM Tenon, who have selected E-conomic as offering exactly what they’re looking for when it comes to elevating their clients to the cloud.

With one of the largest UK accounting practices having taken the decision to head up into the cloud, there’s no doubt the accountancy profession, amongst others, is waking up to the numerous benefits of SAAS.  As you’ve probably already gathered from everything we write and say, we’re great campaigners for the myriad advantages of cloud computing in general, but obviously the icing on our cake was that RSM Tenon opted for E-conomic as their partner of choice. RSM Tenon joins an esteemed list of professional colleagues who have chosen the e-conomic accounting system, including KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, among others.

Grant Sayer, Technical Director of Outsourcing and Operations for RSM Tenon comments:

    • We were looking to provide a more active service where clients can interact with their accountant  – a common platform to share information and tasks.
    • RSM Tenon clients want a cost effective accounting solution that creates the least amount of effort to maintain. Their procedures and software packages need to be integrated and their accounting package needs to be flexible to grow with their business – the functionality, flexibility, scaleability and pricing of E-conomic meets all these needs.

    • It has a strong reporting capability, it’s scaleable and has a depth of functionality.

    • It’s easy to integrate data either through templates or web API integration tools.

    • It has an open data architecture so that historical data can be imported.

    • It has  wide ranging applications covering a host of scenarios – timesheets and expenses for project oriented clients; web trading integration into CRM systems and EPOS.

    • From a data security perspective, all data is held in a secure Fujitsu data centre which is fully managed in the UK.

Well, that rather says it all, and there’s little to add, other than we look forward to a long and productive professional relationship. Onwards and upwards!

    Brrrrrrrr!

    15 October 2010

As the days grow shorter and the temperature continues to drop lower and lower (48°F in Reading right now – brrr!), it comes as no surprise that our hibernation instincts are settling in.

So now that many of us are spending more time inside, escaping the cold that is settling in, there is more time for indoor activities, such as cuddling up by the fireplace with a hot cup of tea.
